The concurrent session I like the most today was the “CIA: What Type of Leader are You? Understanding Yourself and Your Leadership style”. In this session they went over the different types of leadership by having us take a survey and solve a problem. The four main styles are driver, expressive, amiable, and analytic. After taking the CIAs peer style survey, I found out that I was analytical. Knowing this has highlighted the areas I need to work on to become a more rounded leader. I hope that the concurrent sessions tomorrow are as helpfully as this one! You can try the survey by clicking the link below.

Pulling an all nighter
Handed out a few résumés since we’ve been here. I’ve done my best to make
great impressions with employers and I think it’s beginning to pay off
already! The representative at Aramark accepted my résumé the second time I
spoke to her and she said that she would be in contact with me soon about
the internship programs they offer (with locations in Alaska and
Colorado)!!! Hopefully I can show that I am a excellent candidate!

Workshop #1

Lunch time

D.C is not all about politics and monuments

D.C is not all about politics and monuments
The first day was quite the success, sight seeing in the morning as well as
the first instalment of the Hacu coneference. I expect nothing less from
today, with actual workshops and more of a chance to network with different
students and organizations.

All dressed up and ready to go! We had a long day yesterday but we got tons
of useful information about scoring internships as well as government jobs
and private corporations that work with government!
We also had time to speak to different organization to find out more
information about them and their internship opportunities! I personally
gave out two résumés which made me extremely happy!
