Carla Gonsalez is 22-years-old and is currently studying Neurobiology at Pasadena City College. Originally from Los Angeles, California, Carla likes to fill up her free time with anything and everything. She enjoys hiking, traveling, visiting bookstores, dancing, hanging out with friends, drawing, watching TED videos, and playing with her dog, Panda. If you see her rocking out to her I-Pod, she's most likely listening to her favorite song "If I Ruled the World" by Nas, featuring Lauryn Hill. Carla's trip to HACU will be her first visit to Washington D.C. While at the conference, she looks forward to networking with the many powerful and amazing people that will be in attendance. Though she is very excited to attend HACU, Carla is also equally excited to the possibility of squeezing in a quick trip to the National Mall.

One more thing to cross out of my bucket list! Yup I saw the White House it was pretty cool, although I did not see Obama but that’s ok! It was not what I imagined but it was an amazing experience. I always imagined the White House as this huge place with nothing around it but no I was wrong! The White House was not as big as I imagined and there was buildings right next to it with and a beautiful park in front of it.

I love the squirrels in D.C! They are not your ordinary PCC squirrels who run around and mind their own business, nope! These grey and white DC squirrels made me feel welcomed. These squirrels are so friendly they let people pet them! I always wanted to pet one, but when I had the chance I freaked out.
