Me and Myself

Me and Myself

Hi, I am Melissa Dyandra. I feel so lucky and excited to be able to enroll Chem and Bio joint class as I heard from everybody, including counselors, that Chem 1A class is so difficult to get because of the limited space. Moreover, this semester is my second semester in Pasadena City College and it makes getting chemistry class harder for me. However, I am very lucky that I got a registration priority, so I could register early and most of the classes were still open. Besides getting the registration priority, I have another luck. There is Chem and Bio joint class for the first time in PCC and this program makes my plan goes well, although there is a new policy that the prerequisite of Bio 10A is Chem 1A. I said I am very lucky over and over again, and honestly it is what I feel now.

Let’s change the topic. Something interesting about me, I think I am very curious of everything that occurs around me. I want to know a little and unimportant thing that people around me are talking about. My friends say that when my excessive curiosity appears, my first expression is so funny, but I never realize what kind of expression I have. Sometimes, I feel my curiosity is annoying not only for myself but also for other people, although it is often useful and helpful for me.

Yan’s assignment

Yan's assignment

Hello everyone:
I didn’t do this assignment until the last minutes is because I always assume myself as a boring person. Biology is really challenging for me, but at least there are two beautiful professors helping me. I just “googled” myself and there are really no “fun” cells in my body. However, I have 24 pairs of chromosomes. The extra one is called “mean chromosome.” Yes, I am a mean person. I like to joking about my friends in front of them. That’s probably why I don’t have a lot of friends, but the majority of my friends are really close.
Also, I am a cat person. My family has cats since I was a little girl. They are just so cute. Here is one of my favorite cat pictures. The little cutie is very scared in the picture, which is exactly I feel about this class right now. If I blackout one day inside the classroom, please call 911. :) Whatever difficulties lay in front of me; I am ready for them because I have dumped my TV drama and said goodbye to my friends

How I feel about our class

What better way to express my feelings than have Mr. Bean do it

But I really am quite excited about this class, especially after this first week. Hope things continue to be this fun and interesting.

Oh, right something interesting about me is… I like to look at hilarious dog GIFs when I’m bored.

Here, have a taste.

Intro Post

Hi, my name is Brady and not Brandy as many people had heard in class. One interesting fact about me is the fact that I hate being late. Although I enjoy lazing and basically procrastinating whenever I actually can, I hate being late to planned appointments. You can look forward to seeing me around the school’s parking lot or in front of the classroom at least 30 minutes before class. Hope to have a great semester with everyone.

For a picture that reflects my mood regarding the class right now, I chose a picture of my dog curled up sleeping. Waking up at 5 to get to this class at 7:15 two days a week right after break is sooo difficult. I just want to curl back up in a ball and sleep a few more hours just like my dog is doing X___X

An enlightening experience

An enlightening experience

I have no regrets regarding my enrollment in BioChem, though as the week continues to pass I’m beginning to have my fears. This particular class seems to be a new experience for me and I’m not sure how it will be reflected in my work and grades.
To visualize how I’m feeling regarding this BioChem class, I thought that a simple picture of a raccoon that I found while reading some articles on msn.com would fit. Personally, I think that the raccoon seems to be contemplating how in the world it got into such a predicament while laughing at itself because of it.
Overall, I’m sure that the experience was the same thing as BioChem will be for me, and enlightening experience.

Quirks

Quirks

I’ve been contemplating on what to post for quite a while and have decided that the most interesting thing about me is a part of my daily routine. To start, I’m a morning person. I can wake before the sun rises, though I would need an alarm, and enjoy it. I can run a mile as soon as I rise from the bed and have no issue with it. What is strange, however, is my disposition before sleeping. As I rise from my work and head up the stairs of my house to prepare to go to sleep, I’m cranky. It’s somewhat odd and I’m not sure why I’m cranky, but my temper shortens as soon as I pick up my tooth brush to clean my teeth before slithering into bed.

Something Unique

Something Unique

I have to say I’m pleasantly surprised at the way the class is structured, since this is my first time attending PCC. I enjoy the integration of Biology and Chemistry for a innovative approach at teaching. Also pretty cool that they’re using social media such as tumblr to do so.

Something Interesting or unique about ourselves?

I enjoy hiking, snowboarding, boxing, and muy thai. I’m just a beginner in boxing and muy thai, but its been great. I run marathons and the next one I have scheduled is in a week, (totally unprepared for, but thankfully its a half)

I make an effort to read for fun aside from thick Biology texts, especially on my kindle and my current read is Les Miserable (hopefully finish before watching in theatre). Last novel I read was The Emperor of All Maladies.

Until next time. :)

My Feelings Toward the Paired Learning Experience

My Feelings Toward the Paired Learning Experience

I am feeling like this cat in the picture. I am curious about the material that will be covered in the paired learning experience and I want to learn as much as I can. Just like the cat, it is so curious about the bubble. It’s attention is so focused on the bubble and eventually the cat will try to grab it to figure out what is that thing floating in front of it.

My Favorite Place in the World

My favorite place in the world, is called Wadi Rum it is also known as the Valley of the Moon. Wadi Rum is located in the southern part of Jordan. I have been very lucky to visit this valley a few times in my life and every time I go there it as if I am seeing a piece of art that I have just fallen in love with for the first time, but so much better. Not only is the scenery amazing but it is by far the most peaceful place I have ever been to.
